Have you ever heard of the term RSC box, but was never quite sure what they were? RSC stands for regular slotted container, which can easily be identified by the way the box’s flaps meet in the middle. The lengthwise flaps will always meet in the middle and the inner flaps will only when the box is perfectly square. This is the most common type of box and its typical construction will be either single, double or triple walled which in turn can accommodate light to fairly heavy loads within. While being primarily used for shipping and storage, these boxes always require some sort of glue, tape and/or staples for closure. By far, this is the most highly efficient design of box and there is very small amount of manufacturing waste left behind. A RSC box can be used for most any product and foam inserts can be used to fill in extra spacing.
Overall, a custom rsc box is far more economical than a die cut box and easily combine protection as well as functionality all in one product. You now can easily add a little pizazz and flare to your rsc boxes because here at Cactus Corrugated have the equipment to do so. We are able to manufacture boxes that have a variety of flute sizes as well if that happens to be a concern of yours. Some ideas may be adding your company name and logo to a box, changing the color and/or shape and size as well.
There are many benefits to a custom built box, but why not just get an economical and cost effective product for your dollar that will set you apart from the ‘normalcy’ that accompanies the shipping and packing world. Another benefit is that this type of box is most commonly known for its durability. With the outer flaps covering the full width of the box – extra support is provided, adding an extra layer of protection on the top and the bottom. These boxes can also be made to size, therefore offering you exactly what you need without going overboard. There is never a need to have more box than product, this not only may cost more to ship – it may not keep the items inside as safe as they should be if there is a lot of free room for those items to move around. Along with the typical RSC box, Cactus Corrugated offers RC boxes with variable flaps, half slotted boxes, and telescoping boxes as well as double cover boxes.
