Options When Using RSC Boxes

There are plenty of options when it comes to selecting a box to use. Most people have a similar picture when they think of boxes. They think of something made of cardboard that has four sides connected perpendicularly to a base. The top consists of two flaps that fold over and can be taped shop. This generic type of box has been used by businesses and individuals for a long to store things and to ship things from one location to another.

This generic box is also known as a regular slotted carton or RSC cartons. The boxes are easy to make, easy to store, can be broken down to lay flat when not in use and are easy to stack on top of each other. If a person is looking for a box, they will most likely turn to RSC boxes.

If you or your business needs boxes, you may think that all you have to do is say you want regular slotted boxes and that is all it takes. While that is a starting point, it is only the beginning. There will be many other decisions that have to be made when choosing the box that will fit your needs.

Material

RSC boxes can be made out of many different materials. They can be simple cardboard boxes or they can be made from corrugated cardboard. The different material will decide how strong a box is. It is also possible to get single, double and triple walled boxes. The more walls that are included in the construction of the box, the stronger that it will become.

It is also possible to use material that contains a coating such as wax on the outside of the box. This coating can protect the cardboard from water and other staining while still allowing the box to be used as needed.

Size

The regular slotted cartons can come in just about any size that is needed. They can be small enough to hold a single item as small as a ring or they can be large enough to hold a very big item. The boxes are often custom made to the size that is decided upon by the person that is ordering them. The size of the flaps on the top and the bottom of the box can also be customized to allow them to overlap if that is needed. It is very common for an RSC box to be custom designed before it is created for a business.
